Adler family collection of prints of eagles
Scope and Contents
The Adler family collection of prints of eagles contains approximately 30 lithographs, engravings, and other prints that include representations of eagles. The collection includes natural history plates removed from books, a small number of original fine art prints, and some product advertisements; including can and crate labels. Brands advertised include American Eagle, Eagle Brand, Wide Awake, Golden Eagles Alicantes, Northern Eagle Brand Flame Tokays, Instant Postum, Budweiser, and Federated Brand. Three stock certificates for the Eagle Mining Co. are also included. Ornithological artists represented include Gould, Buffon, and Stewart. A small number of 19th century reproductions of Egyptian hieroglyphs are also included. Material was all previously framed for display in the Adler family home.
